PARENTS RIGHTS COALITION APPLAUDS REMOVAL OF ‘GAY’ CLUB FOR KIDS BY BOSTON UNIVERSITY CHANCELLOR JOHN SILBER
Parents across the state say ‘It’s a start!,’ sharply criticize Mass. state senator opposing decision
The Parents Rights Coalition of Massachusetts applauds Boston University Chancellor John Silber’s recent decision to disband homosexual "gay-straight alliance" clubs at the BU Academy high school.
"This is exactly what should be happening across the state," said Brian Camenker, president of the Coalition. "It’s unfortunate that it takes a courageous man like Dr. Silber to confront the homosexual activists and liberal establishment. These ‘GSAs’ are their pet projects."
The Boston Globe quoted university spokesman Kevin Carleton as saying that Silber does not believe the BU Academy should host any organization dealing with student sexuality. Silber "is not hostile to any particular gender orientation, but he feels that it’s not appropriate for a school, particularly one that begins at the lower end of the secondary level, to be getting involved in the sexuality of its students," Carleton said.
On September 7, The Globe published an editorial opposing Silber’s decision.
"‘Gay-straight alliance’ clubs are very destructive to kids, particularly those who are in any emotional distress," said Camenker. "They target kids who may have psychological or other crises in their lives and say to them ‘your problem is that you’re really gay [and are not accepting it].’ They show them gay movies and take them to gay events. The next thing you know, these kids are self-identifying as homosexual."
Camenker added that if kids are experimenting with homosexuality, the gay activist adults who usually run the clubs affirm that behavior rather than discourage it. "This is a behavior that is medically and psychologically extremely self-destructive, and they are telling kids that they should feel good about doing it."
"The horror stories we get from parents about what goes on in GSAs is mind-boggling."
A big part of the problem, said Camenker, are the lies and deceptions the homosexual activists use to push these projects. "They say that this is for ‘suicide prevention’ and to ‘stop violence and harassment.’ But their evidence comes from fraudulent surveys and hearsay, always generated by the gay community. Nor do they have legitimate medical people involved — it’s all designed and run by hack activists. Above all, parents are always kept in the dark, and that’s done on purpose."
Most of these are co-sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a national homosexual organization. In 2000, GLSEN sponsored participated in a student symposium at Tufts University where, according to an eye-witness, children were verbally instructed in how to engage in dangerous homosexual perversions like "fisting." Two state employees were fired as a result.
Parents Rights Coalition is particularly incensed at Sen. Cheryl Jacques (D-Needham), an open lesbian, has publicly defended these programs: "This woman has less of an interest in the well-being of vulnerable children than in pushing her political agenda. It’s appalling."
